According to the plan, by 2030, Binh Thuan province can attract investment and develop solar energy projects with a total capacity of over 4,000 MW. This is one of the favorable conditions for Binh Thuan to become a clean energy center in the future.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Binh Thuan province, by February 2018, there were 5 solar power projects that were granted investment approval decisions with a total capacity of 340 MW, a total capital of over VND 7,000 billion...

In addition, up to now, the Provincial People's Committee has also approved the policy of survey and investment research for nearly 30 solar power projects to be registered for deployment in Binh Thuan; In which, there are 2 projects that have supplemented the provincial electricity development planning and approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade: Eco Seido Solar Power Plant (capacity of 40 MW) and Da Mi Solar Power Plant (with a capacity of 40 MW). 47 MW).

Nguyen Ngoc Hai, Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee, said that for solar power development planning, the province's view is to create favorable conditions to mobilize capital from all economic sectors to exploit the advantages of solar power. energy and land resources optimally.

This plan is also associated with the general energy development strategy and harmonizes with the development of other economic sectors, bringing practical socio-economic efficiency, only considering the development of solar power for the regions. the agricultural production sector or the development of other industries is not favorable and economic efficiency is low.

The province's investment attraction problem is clearly transforming in the direction of encouraging the development of clean energy in parallel with key economic sectors, in order to gradually realize the goal of becoming an energy center (wind power, thermal power, etc.). electricity, solar power…) of the whole country by 2020 with a total capacity of over 12,000 MW.

Binh Thuan is a locality with the highest solar energy potential in the country, with high and stable heat radiation. The local solar power sector is currently attracting a great deal of investors, and the Government is also interested in encouraging investment.

Therefore, the selection and orientation of solar power development in Binh Thuan province in the near future is to attract capable and experienced economic sectors to take advantage of solar energy resources. , effectively using land, in order to promote economic restructuring, develop the energy industry, and contribute to ensuring national energy security.

Currently, in the whole Binh Thuan province, there are more than 40 planned locations included in the list of attracting solar power projects with a land use demand of about 7,730 ha; in which most concentrated in the area of ​​Bac Binh, Tuy Phong, Ham Tan ...
