(Chinhphu.vn) – On the occasion of the 88th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930-20/10/2018), in 2 days from October 19-20, the Board for the Advancement of Women (Chinhphu.vn) Women (Government Office) in collaboration with Trade Union, Committee for the Advancement of Women (Vietnam Children's Fund) organized a trip "to the source" along with volunteer activities to visit and donate gifts for disadvantaged children in Xuan Son commune, Tan Son district, Phu Tho province.

On the administrative map, Xuan Son commune is located in the "dead spot" of Phu Tho province. That said, because Tan Son district - a mountainous district far from the clouds, Xuan Son commune is probably also the farthest commune. On one side, the commune borders Minh Dai commune of the district, the other side borders Phu Yen, Son La province, and the other side borders Da Bac commune of Hoa Binh province.

According to Mr. Vu Tien Bac, Vice Chairman of Tan Son District People's Committee, Xuan Son is a remote and extremely difficult commune of Tan Son district. The commune is located in the core zone of Xuan Son National Park; The arable land area is not able to expand, people's life is still difficult.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Le Tuyet Mai, Deputy Director of the Fund for Vietnamese Children, said that Vietnam was the first country in Asia to ratify the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and since then Now the rights of Vietnamese children are guaranteed. The Vietnam Children's Fund was established to support with the state budget the implementation of the National Goals for the Children of Vietnam. After more than 26 years of operation, the Fund has mobilized nearly 6,500 billion VND to support more than 30 million turns of children in extremely difficult circumstances nationwide through heart surgery, smile surgery, eye surgery, surgery for motor defects, health care programs, nutritional support, scholarships for children, etc.

At the ceremony, the mission gave 200 gifts to disadvantaged children of mountainous ethnic groups living in the core area of Xuan Son national forest, Xuan Son commune, Tan Son district (of which 113 children are from the Dao ethnic group, currently studying at Doi Lap, Xuan Son Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary School and 87 disadvantaged children in the commune); donated 113 sets of Dao ethnic clothing to 113 preschool and primary school students (the sponsor is Helio Power Company); donated a set of speakers and amplifiers to the school.
